RoodFM is a passionate and neoteristic bass-music radio station based just outside of London. Founded in early 2011 by Dan Fisher and Chris Nutbeen, it has quickly gained accolade for being dedicated to bringing forward-thinking music to the ears of those who might not have otherwise heard it. Pushing both well-known artists as well as new/unsigned acts, one thing remains constant in RoodFM’s entourage, and that is the standard that’s being set. It’s clear that from the offset, the emphasis has been on quality rather than quantity, and RoodFM is now synonymous with pioneering music.
Chris and Dan first met six years ago when they were both employed as Graphic Designers by the same company in Hampshire; yet it wasn’t for years to come that they would eventually decide to go into business together and form RoodFM. It began when Dan (aka Fish) was thinking about getting into internet radio to further his own career as a DJ, he started shopping around for a station he thought might suit him, but before long started thinking that a lot of these radio stations were uninspiring and completely missing the mark. This was where Chris came in. Knowing that Chris was a highly-skilled web-designer, Dan went to Chris and asked if he would help him in building his own internet radio station from the ground up. Realising that he was potentially onto something, Chris agreed and the two formed the partnership that is now RoodFM.
RoodFM is now fully established and embracing the new possibilities that the bass music revolution has opened up. Having already had such talented acts on board as Dub Phizix, Synkro, Cyrus, Silkie, Lost, Beezy, Chef, Von D, Killawatt, District, Chimpo, Fox, Badklaat, Swindle, Taiki & NUlight, Compa, TMSV, Benton, Thelem, Requake, Bredren, Outer Heaven, Funtcase, Goli & Ashburner, LAXX, Widowmaker and Bannerworx to name a few; RoodFM seems to be to be in a prime position to continue thriving within the scene.
